Membership
Ikebana International is a non-profit cultural organization whose objective is to stimulate and perpetuate the study of ikebana and related arts throughout the world. The Portland Chapter 47 is one of 165 chapters with a global membership of approximately 8,500 persons.
Eligibility
Membership is open to anyone interested in the cultural and artistic aspects of Japan, including but not limited to Ikebana, the Japanese Art of Flower Arrangement.
Activities
The Chapter holds monthly General Meetings/Programs between September and May, open to members and the public. Members, who are students of Ikebana, participate in public exhibitions with their respective schools. Practicing Ikebana, exhibiting, Chapter committee work, and outreach activities provide abundant opportunities for members to participate in keeping with the II motto, "In friendship through flowers".
Publications
Members receive three II publications: the II Magazine, Chapter Activities and Sakura News, each published three times/year. Members also receive a monthly Chapter Newsletter.
Dues
Annual membership dues of $65 are in effect from 1 June to 31 May.
